Nelson Storage began in 2006 as a large, empty warehouse in the wide open expanses of rural Nelson County. Starting with a 25,000 square foot fixer-upper warehouse, construction and renovation skills, and lots of optimism, we got to work.
With eyes always open to opportunities, we expanded from warehouse storage to self storage and delivered storage. When we were unable to find a dumpster company which would deliver to our rural area, we started our own. When the solid waste and recycling coordinator approached us about a need in our locality, we started a recycling business. When a mail-order bookstore moved in to our customized warehouse space, we took on fulfillment services.
We have been growing and expanding with the passing years. Our warehouse now offers office space with high-speed internet, and is home to the antiquarian bookstore Buteo Books, specializing in Natural History books. Also within these walls are the huge collections of architectural salvage and industrial antiques rescued by The Old Cold Storage Architectural Salvage.
